Mikey began to show the first signs of a drummer at the early age of six, when he could be found listening to Twisted Sister and banging on chairs or whatever else made noise. By the age of 10 he was behind the drums and began taking lessons in school. After high school, Mikey became more serious about his drumming and began taking private lessons.
Growing up, Mikey always had a passion for rock music, listening to bands like Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Skid Row. In his teenage years, he discovered bands like Rush and Queensryche, and began to further develop his skills and style behind the kit. Soon after, Mikey heard Mike Portnoy and Dream Theater, which he cites as his biggest musical influence to date.
Mikey has combined all his influences with his own personal touches to create his own style of drumming, which he likes to refer to as “Mikeystyle.” After a few stints with other bands, Mikey found the type of band he was looking for and is very excited about being a part of Silver Spade. “I couldn’t find a better group of guys to play with; I feel like I fit right in.”
